WH Family

During this English lesson you will how to ask questions using the words that begin with the letters "wh" or use them in the word. The word 'who, whom, whose, how, what, where and which' are members of the WH family. They help is to ask questions.

1. Who can be used to ask about people. It is used as the subject of the sentence. 

• Who drives you to school?
• Who is your best friend?
• Who wants to visit Agra?
• Who is at the door?
• Who would like to go on picnic?

2. Whom can be used to ask about people. It replaces the object of the sentence. 

• Whom are they playing with?
• Whom are we looking for?
• Whom are you talking to?
• Whom are we waiting for?
• Whom shold I talk to about payment?

3. Whose can be used to ask about the possessor of something.

• Whose car is blocking the road?
• Whose bag are your carrying?
• Whose mother is a teacher?
• Whose fault is that?
• Whose house was used for shooting?

4. What can be used to ask about objects or people.

• What is your favourite colour?
• What do you want for dessert?
• What is his next move?
• What is the time?
• What is your friend's name?
• What is your contact number?
• What is her date of birth?

5. Which can be used to ask about choice e.g.

• Which is your shirt?
• Which colour do you like?
• Which is the way to the market?
• Which shirt does she want?
• Which game do you play?
• Which were the car keys?

6. Where is used to ask for a location. For e.g.:

• Where di you play circket?
• Where is your wallet?
• Where are you going this month?
• Where is her school located?
• Where do you go to exercise?
• Where did she put her bag?

7. How is used to ask about a condition. For e.g.:

• How deep is the valley?
• How is his new house?
• How will you go to Jaipur?
• How was my gift?
• How are you going to the office?
• How does he send the mails?
• How can we repay them?
• How do they spedn their leisure?
