Nouns - English Grammar
Noun are divided into common nouns and proper nouns.
Common Nouns
Common nouns are word used for people , or places, or animals, or thinks.
Words used for people: doctor, dancer, teacher, player, pilot, shopkeeper etc.
Words used for places: school, house, airport, bus stop, garden, church, kitchen, zoo, hospital, office, gym, temple etc.
Words used for things: pen, ship, knife, glass, book, bag, chair, watch, cup, computer, table, car, cycle, newspaper etc.
Proper Nouns
Proper nouns are the words used for particular persons, places or things. They always begin with a capital letter.
For e.g. John, Santa Claus, Mohit, Indian, Ryan, Sachin Tendulkar, Taj Mahal, January, Monday, Mount Everest, India, Diwali, McDonald's, Adidas, Citibank, Delhi.
Collective Nouns
These are the words that donate a group of individuals e.g. assembly, family, crew, police, class, army, team etc.
