PACKING CHECKLIST HOLIDAYING WITH YOUR BABY
It's important to know what all you need to take care of when you are traveling with your baby. So here's a traveling checklist to help you pack better.
TRAVEL ACCESSORIES
- Travel Bag - have a separate bag for your baby with medicines, wipes, sunscreen, diapers, mosquito repellent, jackets, and hats, within easy reach.
- Car Seat - a securely fitted set for safe travel by car
- Stroller - pack according to the destination. An all-terrain pram for off-road and bumpy walks, while a lightweight collapsible one for city locations.
- Baby Sling - a good sling or baby carrier can prove invaluable for getting about with your baby easily.
- Blanket - useful throughout the journey for comfort, shade, and warmth.
FOOD AND DRINK SUPPLIES
- For breastfeeding, pack a dupatta or stole - can prove helpful when there are people around.
- Bottled milk - for formula milk make sure to pack formula powder, bottles, teats, sterilizing equipment, and a bottle warmer. For express breastmilk pack breast pump.
- Pre-pack some jars or tubs of food, either homemade or ready - prepared, keep more in quantity than how much might be required.
- Once your baby starts on solids, pack plenty of snack options in case of delay in meals
- Pack bibs, sippers, wipes and disposable spoons, plates, and cups. Also, carry a plastic bag for dirty items.
CLOTHING
- Cool Clothes - lightweight, long-sleeved tops and long trousers or dresses to keep your baby off the sun
- Warm Clothes - In case of going someplace cold, pack easy to layer winter clothes.
- Hats - Choose a wide brim hat that covers your baby's face and neck from the sun.
- Pack a sufficient amount of outfits, calculating two complete sets for a day.
- Pack plenty of disposable diapers along with nappy rash cream, nappy bags, and wipes. Pack a few swim nappies if you are headed for the beach or have a pool at the hotel.
- A travel mat for on the move change of diapers.
BED AND BATH SUPPLIES
- Toiletries - pack the usual baby wash, shampoo, oil, lotion, and wet wipes.
- Blankets - carry a few extra blankets along with the one your baby normally uses.
- Bodysuits - carry along with the most comfortable night suits, onesies and bodysuits to keep your baby snug at night.
- Travel cot - carry a travel cot based on your destination.
DON'T FORGET THE BASICS
- Passport - even your baby needs a passport if you are traveling abroad. Sometimes a visa too, based on the destination.
- First aid kit - pack all the important medical supplies for you and your baby.
- Mosquito repellents & sunscreens - pack the repellent recommended for your baby's age and a sunscreen with a minimum of SPF 15.
- Toys & books - carry a few of your little one's favorite toys and books to keep them entertained throughout.
