Present - 'To Be' (Position)
In life we talk about positions i.e. what the person is e.g. teacher, doctor, prime minister, pilot, postman, etc.
'Is, am, are' express position in present
For example:-- I am a football player.
- You are a dancer.
- We are journalists.
- They are ministers.
- He is a student.
- She is a singer.
- It is Taj Mahal.
NEGATIVE SENTENCES
For framing a negative sentence, not is placed after 'is/am/are'. e.g.- I am not a minister.
- He is not a BSL student.
- They are not pilots.
- She is not a dancer.
- It is not your bag.
- We are not his brothers.
- I am not a naval officer.
- My mom is not a teacher.
- They are not players
- Her uniform is not ready.
- My friends are not soldiers.
INTERROGATIVE SENTENCE
For an interrogative sentence, 'is/am/are' is placed in the beginning of the sentence e.g.
- I she a cricket player?
- Am I a good speaker?
- Are you his teacher?
- Are we late for the school?
- Is my brother a good player?
- Are those boys my cousins?
- Is she in her office?
- Is it very hot today?
- Are you a mechanic?
